The idea is that the book is useful for a 30-hour undergraduate teaching course, going through the standard hot big bang model in general, the standard Lambda CDM model, and the third generation models that aim to find a more physical, general-relativistic model consistent with the observations and minimising free parameters (e.g. avoiding Lambda).
